But it only took one home staging course for me to realise that I'd rather hold a camera than a colour swatch. Instead of styling - I started observing and catching moments where light, space and intention come together in a single frame.

It was then that photography took over the reins in my professional life.

First there was admiration. Then learning, practising, first commissions. With time came collaborations with architects and designers who, like me, see something more in a space than a crude arrangement of furniture.

Today, after nine years of working with hoteliers, developers, real estate agents and private investors, I can say one thing: What fascinates me most is the moment when someone's concept gets the perfect frame.

Interiors are about choices and compromises. People with emotions, needs and all their life's baggage. And it is all these fragments of stories that I try to capture. I mainly work with designers and architects who are looking for images with soul. Who want to show the emotion behind the project.

I work with most of my clients for years. That's the best compliment I can think of - because there's always more behind a long-term collaboration than just a well-made photograph.

I am 100 per cent present at the sessions - not only as a photographer, but also as a person who understands the stress, chaos and tight deadlines. And who knows that good photography is the final touch to good design.

In life, as in photographs, I look for a balance. Between light and shadow. The wide frame and the detail. Delight and tranquillity.
